After breakfast, we visit the Grand Royal Palace, dedicated to the ceremonial events of the Thai royal family. Within the same complex is the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew, known for the Emerald Buddha statue. After exploring this complex, we continue to Wat Pho, a giant hall housing the Reclining Buddha.
Next, enjoy a stroll through Chinatown, considered the liveliest district in Bangkok, famous for its diverse regional specialties prepared with the freshest ingredients of the day. We then visit Wat Traimit, known as the Golden Buddha. Afterwards, embark on a long-tail boat for a cruise along the Chao Phraya River and its bustling inner canals, offering fantastic views of local life. Along the way, we stop at Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. Return to the hotel for free time to relax.

Early in the morning at 7:00, we drive southwest of Bangkok to visit the Maeklong Market, which is unique for being located on a railway track. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a local snack at the market before heading to Damnoen Saduak, a rural floating market. Stop for a long-tail boat ride along the waterways at the picturesque Damnoen Saduak floating market.
Next, we continue the journey to the city of Kanchanaburi. Upon arrival, visit the World War II memorial, including the JEATH War Museum. Lunch will be served at a local floating restaurant near the River Kwai Bridge (free choice). Visit the Kwai Bridge, followed by a short train ride on the “Death Railway,” which runs along the Kwai River. Free dinner and overnight at the hotel in Kanchanaburi.

Breakfast and departure for Erawan Waterfall, located in the national park of the same name. You will explore on foot this beautiful seven-tiered waterfall (it is recommended to bring good walking shoes). Don’t forget your swimsuit if you wish to swim in the natural pools. In the afternoon, after lunch, continue the journey to Ayutthaya. The ancient city of Ayutthaya is known as the “Venice of the East” because it is situated along the Chao Phraya River and its tributaries. Many monuments and historical ruins can be visited in this city, founded in 1350 by King Uthong when the Thai people had to migrate south under pressure from northern neighbors. Dinner on your own and overnight in Ayutthaya.

Along the way, explore the highlights of Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Mahathat (with a Buddha face emerging from a tree), and stroll through a local market en route to Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Afterwards, visit the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, built during the Ayutthaya period. The palace features an eclectic collection of buildings blending European, Khmer, Thai, and Chinese architectural styles. It was the king’s favorite summer residence. After breakfast, we will visit the local market to discover regional products. Then, we will visit the famous Wat Phra Kaew, where the Emerald Buddha was once enshrined. Next, you will visit Wat Phra Sing, home to one of Thailand’s most beautiful Buddha images. Afterwards, visit the remarkable Wat Rongkhun (White Temple). This masterpiece of Thai architecture was built in 2000 by the renowned Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat and features white concrete adorned with thousands of small mirrors. Lunch is at your leisure. In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the Mae Kok River to a Karen village, where you can observe and even feed elephants. Return to Chiang Rai. Dinner is at your leisure and overnight in Chiang Rai.

After breakfast, we depart for northern Thailand, a region of lush forests, mountains, and stunning scenery. This morning, you will explore the surroundings, starting with the road to Mae Salong. Travel up and down the green hills covered with tea plantations. Taste the delicious tea produced by one of the many local plantations. From Doi Mae Salong, you will visit two ethnic minority villages: the Akha village of Loyo and the Lisu village of Ban Haygo. Afterwards, visit the Mae Fah Luang Botanical Garden. Upon arrival at the Golden Triangle, take a boat on the Mekong River to see where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet. Dinner on your own and overnight in Chiang Saen.

After breakfast, you will leave the hotel for Thaton. On the way, you will stop at the village of Patai to meet the Padong Karen tribe, famous for its “giraffe” women who wear copper rings around their necks to elongate them. Next, you will visit a traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy, where an expert will explain the use of herbs, roots, plants, and ointments. In the afternoon, continue the journey to Chiang Mai, the capital of northern Thailand, with a stop to explore the underground gallery maze at Chiang Dao. Overnight in Chiang Mai.

The morning will be mainly dedicated to a walking tour of the Old City, with stops at the old wall, moat, and one of the city gates. You will visit Chiang Mai’s most beautiful temples: Wat Prah Singh, Wat Phan Tao, and Wat Chedi Luang. Afterwards, stroll along the narrow streets lined with traditional houses and enjoy a ride in a rickshaw. Then, explore the central Warorot Market before visiting Doi Suthep Hill. To brighten your evening, wander through the night market on your own. Overnight in Chiang Mai.

After breakfast, transfer to the Poopoopaper Elephant Park, an ecological and natural museum park that presents and explains the unique steps of making paper from elephant dung fibers. Eight pavilions in the park will allow you to learn the entire process of paper-making. In addition, you will have the opportunity to try making your own elephant dung paper—exciting!
In the afternoon, enjoy a two-hour cruise along the Mae Ping River, a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. You can watch the scenery along the river change and see many beautiful traditional teak houses as well as lush rural greenery along the way. Finally, take the overnight train in 2nd class to Bangkok. Overnight on the train. (No guide on board.)

Arrival in Bangkok early in the morning, breakfast at your own expense. Then, meet your driver for transfer to Bangkok Airport for the midday flight to Trat Airport. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the pier to take the ferry to Koh Chang Island, located in the Gulf of Thailand. With steep jungle-covered peaks, Ko Chang retains its remote and rugged spirit—despite parts being developed into a resort destination. Sweeping bays line the west coast; most have fine sand, while others are pebbly. What the sand lacks, it makes up for with an unlikely combination: accessible wilderness alongside a thriving party scene. You will have time to enjoy the beach and your resort. Free time.
