Itinerary

Day 1
Hanoi - Cat Ba island - Lan Ha Bay (L, D)

  • 7:30 AM – Departure by bus from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter (if your hotel is outside the Old Quarter, the meeting point will be indicated).
    10:00 AM – Arrival at Pha Got, where you board a speedboat/ferry.
    11:00 AM – Arrival on Cat Ba Island, then transfer by bus to the southern part of the island.
    12:00 PM – Arrival at Beo Port.
    12:30 PM – Start of the cruise: welcome drink and briefing with your English-speaking guide. Enjoy some time on the boat’s deck to observe the fishing villages. Lunch is served on board while the boat begins sailing.
    1:30 PM – The junk stops in front of Van Boi Beach (or another nearby beach) for lunch, with a small introduction to Vietnamese cuisine, mainly featuring seafood.
    2:45 PM – Swimming time at Van Boi Beach, a completely untouched beach, or simply relax and admire the beauty of the bay from the boat’s upper deck.
    3:45 PM – The boat heads further into the bay to Ba Trai Dao or Dau Be for a scenic kayaking session away from the tourist routes, offering another way to explore the bay.
    5:30 PM – The boat returns to the middle of the bay and anchors for the night. Free time to enjoy a drink and admire the sunset in a magical setting.
    6:00 PM – Cooking class on board (menu may vary).
    7:15 PM – Dinner on the boat.
    8:30 PM – Free time or try your hand at squid fishing.Note: The order of activities during the cruise may be adjusted depending on local weather conditions.

Day 2
Lan Ha Bay(B, L, D)

Wake up surrounded by nature, and why not start your day with a Tai Chi session on the deck!

7:00 AM – Breakfast on board.
7:45 AM – Explore the village of Viet Hai by bicycle.
10:00 AM – Guided walk in Cat Ba National Park. Visit a cave in the park, then arrive at a very old traditional house for a home-cooked lunch with the local family.
1:00 PM – Return to the pier and resume sailing on your junk towards Dau Be for a scenic cruise, offering another way to explore the bay in detail.
Around 3:00 PM – Kayaking session.

In the late afternoon, the boat heads back to Lan Ha Bay for the night. Enjoy the sunset from the deck, followed by dinner and overnight stay in the middle of the bay.

Day 3
Lan Ha Bay- Cat Ba - Hanoi (B, L)

We recommend waking up early to watch the sunrise (around 5:30 AM).

Breakfast on board around 7:00 AM.
At 8:00 AM, the junk continues cruising through Lan Ha Bay, approaching the most beautiful peaks and rock formations. Visit a floating house where locals raise fish.
Return to the boat around 10:00 AM. Time for a shower before checking out of your cabins as the junk heads back to Beo Pier.
11:00 AM – Brunch on board. Disembark around 11:45 AM. End of the cruise.

If you prefer, you can book a private car (7 or 16 seats).

Yes, it’s possible to go to Tam Coc (Ninh Binh) after a cruise in Lan Ha Bay, Halong Bay, or Bai Tu Long Bay.

This is usually arranged with Daiichi transport.

Note: from Cat Ba Island, the journey is quite long – allow more than 5 hours by road.
