Ho Chi Minh City – 1 day tour

per person

Ho Chi Minh City was a fishing village belonging to the Khmer Empire several centuries ago. It wasn’t until the 17th century that the city began to welcome Vietnamese and Chinese populations and was named Saigon after the river that runs through it.

Renamed Ho Chi Minh City after the country’s reunification in 1975, it is now the most populous city in Vietnam, with over 8 million inhabitants. Over time, the city gradually densified, benefiting from its proximity to the Mekong Delta.

Today, it drives the country’s growth and its leaders aim to make it a leading metropolis in Asia, similar to the city-state of Singapore. Why is it interesting to visit Ho Chi Minh City? Precisely to experience and witness this constant dynamism, to reflect on the changes, and to compare the old and the modern!

Our English-speaking guides will help you explore the different typical neighborhoods of Saigon: Vietnamese, Chinese, and French. Among the iconic buildings you won’t want to miss during your day trip to Saigon are the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Saigon, built in 1880; the Central Post Office with its splendid metal structure designed by Gustave Eiffel, built between 1886 and 1891; the Reunification Palace, constructed in 1868 and renovated in 1955; Ben Thanh Market dating back to 1860… these are just a glimpse of the many attractions Saigon has to offer!

Last but not least, Ho Chi Minh City is the ideal starting point for trips to the Mekong Delta or excursions to the surrounding provinces, such as Cu Chi. Contact us to get all the information you need to plan your stay in Ho Chi Minh City and its surroundings.
