You are traveling down Vietnam and surely want to rest after the beautiful hikes in the North. The destinations in Central Vietnam are then perfect for you.
However, before letting yourself go gently, we advise you to discover Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park which houses some of the world’s largest caves, nothing less! The National Park is considered a major destination for adventure tourism in Southeast Asia and has been successful so far! We can help you organize several days in the caves and in the park.
Next, immerse yourself in modern Vietnamese history by visiting Hue and its Imperial Citadel. You won’t regret visiting this city, also known for its gastronomy. The beaches of Danang and the port of Hoi An will then await you for a relaxing moment during your trip.

Central Vietnam : practical information
Visitors are often charmed by the warm welcome they receive from the people living in Central Vietnam and the relaxed atmosphere that prevails there… According to us, the weather plays a big role as the temperatures are much milder in the South, even though there is a very intense rainy season! You will therefore need to choose your timing carefully if you don’t want to get wet! During the high tourist season, you will not be alone in the Hoi An area… While it is still possible to feel like an explorer in Northern Vietnam, it has become very difficult in the Center. However, it is still possible to discover the surroundings of Hoi An in peace and quiet.
We placed Phong Nha Ke Bang in Central Vietnam for geographical reasons, not climatic ones! The climate on-site is more similar to that of the North with distinct seasons and a real winter (November-December). Further south, from Hue onwards, the situation changes: the year is marked by two seasons, the dry season from February to July and the rainy season from August to January. The best time to visit Hue, Danang, and Hoi An is from February to the end of May. Then the rainy season settles in, intensifying more and more and welcoming typhoons at the end of the year. Towards November, it is not uncommon to see Hoi An flooded and become a small Venice…
The cuisine of Central Vietnam is dominated by the gastronomy dating back to the court of the Emperors in Hue. This refined cuisine, with a greater use of spicy flavors, is the pride of the region and is recognized as one of the best in Vietnam. The iconic dish is the Bun Bo Hue, which you won’t want to miss during your visit to the city. We can organize a food tour in Hue for you if you want to taste a wide variety of dishes and discover the city in a different way at nightfall. We invite you to discover our 20 must-try dishes in Vietnam to learn more.
