Which destinations for your beach holiday?

With its 3,000 kilometers of coastline, Vietnam offers countless opportunities for a perfect beach holiday. Discover below the most beautiful destinations where you can relax with your feet in the water.

In Northern Vietnam

Your first choice could naturally be Halong Bay, the must-see destination when visiting Vietnam. Here, you can combine a junk boat cruise with a beach stay.

Our destination tip: choose Lan Ha Bay for your cruise and Cat Ba Island rather than Halong City for your time of rest. You could also consider Quan Lan Island, a little-known gem that perfectly suits those seeking peace and quiet.

Our weather tip: for a beach holiday, the best period is from May to October. You may encounter occasional showers, but the weather is generally warm and sunny. Winter arrives in December, bringing gray skies and fairly cool temperatures until April.

In Central Vietnam

Au Centre du Vietnam, vous aurez beaucoup plus de choix pour votre séjour balnéaire. La plupart des plus beaux resorts se trouvent d’ailleurs dans le centre du Vietnam.

Long Co peninsula

Located along National Route 1, just 30 km from Da Nang and 70 km south of Hue, Lang Co Beach is an ideal spot for travelers looking to enjoy a swim away from the crowds. Picture secluded coves, over 10 kilometers of fine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and lush surrounding nature — that’s the little paradise of Lang Co!

If you fall in love with the place, you can even extend your stay. The beautiful Laguna Lang Co resort offers the perfect setting to relax and unwind during your trip.

Da Nang beach

Da Nang is one of the favorite destinations for holidaymakers. Coming from Northern Vietnam, it is the country’s first major seaside resort. The city boasts over 90 kilometers of coastline, stretching from the Hai Van Pass down to the Marble Mountains. Along this stretch are some of Vietnam’s most beautiful beaches, including My Khe, Nam O, Xuan Thieu, Thanh Binh, Son Tra, Bac My An, and Non Nuoc.

A wide range of hotels line these beaches, giving you plenty of options for accommodation — you’ll be spoiled for choice!

Hoi An port

The small port town of Hoi An has so much to offer: a charming old town, cuisine renowned throughout the country, peaceful countryside in the surroundings, and beautiful beaches nearby. The municipality of Hoi An has a fairly long stretch of coastline, along which three beaches have been developed.

Our weather tip for Central Vietnam

If you are planning an extended beach holiday in Central Vietnam, we recommend the period from January to June. If you prefer to avoid the intense heat, January, February, and March are the best months. In any case, it’s best to avoid the period from September to December, as this is the season of very heavy rains!

In Southern Vietnam

Descendons encore un plus le pays pour arriver dans sa partie sud. Cinq destinations ont notre préférence : Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Con Dao et Phu Quoc.

Quy Nhon

In recent years, Quy Nhon has welcomed an increasing number of both Vietnamese and international travelers for seaside holidays. Many Vietnamese love to stay here, especially to enjoy the region’s renowned seafood.

The area also offers visitors stunning landscapes, with crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches that never fail to charm. From Quy Nhon, you can even set off on an adventure to explore the nearby islands for an even more authentic experience.

Plage de Nha Trang en milieu de journée

Nha Trang

Along with Da Nang, this is perhaps the best-known seaside resort in Vietnam. As a result, there is a wide range of high-quality resorts to choose from — you’ll be spoiled for choice!

You can also explore Cam Ranh Bay and Nui Chua National Park to the south of the city. And if you’re interested in the region’s history, a visit to the My Son Sanctuary is a great option.

Mui Ne

Mui Ne is the seaside resort of Phan Thiet, in Binh Thuan province. Located halfway between Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne is especially popular with outdoor sports enthusiasts. Thanks to the constant winds along this coast, it is an ideal destination for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and other water sports all year round.

Con Dao island

The Con Dao Islands form an archipelago of 16 islands, but only one of them is inhabited: Con Son. Con Dao is the perfect place for diving! Magnificent coral reefs surround the island, where you can spot colorful fish, sea turtles, and even dolphins if you’re lucky.

The archipelago also includes a 20,000-hectare national park, offering excellent hiking opportunities. The entrance fee to the park is 60,000 VND (about 2.5 USD) per person. At the park office, you can get an English map of the hiking trails to plan your exploration.

Phu Quoc island

Located at the southern tip of Vietnam, Phu Quoc is the country’s largest island. We recommend Bai Truong Beach on the southwest coast, Bai Sao and Bai Dam in the southeast, as well as the wilder coves of Bai Ong Lang in the north.

Today, it is also possible to arrange scuba diving sessions at several spots around the island, perfect for coral lovers. With warm and shallow waters, you can enjoy colorful reefs and tropical fish all year round!

Our weather tip for Southern Vietnam

For all of Southern Vietnam, we recommend the period from November to April for your beach holiday. From May to October, heavy rains are common, and during the summer typhoons can form, so we do not recommend visiting the islands at that time. Temperatures, however, remain fairly consistent throughout the year.
