Visiting the Temples of Angkor is not only exploring the remnants of a city but also several royal capitals, each of which exerted its influence over the empire for decades! It’s also about immersing oneself in this civilization and attempting to comprehend the state cult known as devarāja.

Here is a 3-day itinerary to visit the essential monuments that contribute to the fame of the Angkor temples.

Arrival in Siem Reap
Arrival at Siem Reap Airport. You will be welcomed by our guide and driver. Transfer from the airport to your hotel in Siem Reap. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Visit of Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat (B, D)
Breakfast at the hotel, and then the day is dedicated to exploring the most impressive sites of Angkor. You will first visit the Angkor Thom temple, mainly built by King Jayavarman VII at the end of the 12th century AD. The name Angkor Thom means "the great city." It stands as a testament to the grandeur of the empire. After lunch (on your own), you will discover Angkor Wat, a monumental complex built by Suryavarman II at the beginning of the 12th century. This city was the spiritual heart of the Khmer civilization at that time. With your guide, you will decipher the many symbols (plentiful!) inscribed in its architecture. In the early evening, you will be taken to a dinner and dance show where you can experience the Apsara dance, a true symbol of Khmer culture. You will return to your hotel for the night.
  • Included in the day: Breakfast and dinner show, transportation by car with driver, services of a Khmer-speaking guide, entrance tickets, overnight at the hotel.

Siem Reap - end of the tour (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, then a private car transfer without a guide to Siem Reap International Airport 2 hours before the departure flight.
