It is this rich history that you will uncover during these three days of exploring the city and its surroundings.

Luang Prabang (L)
Airport pickup in Luang Prabang, transfer to the hotel, check-in, and lunch. In the afternoon, visit Vat Xieng Thong, the most beautiful temple in the city built in the 16th century; Vat Visunarat and its Melon Stupa, next to Vat Aham. Then, climb Mount Phu Si to see the sunset over the city. On the way back, stop at the vibrant night market. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Luang Prabang - Pak Ou cave - Kuang Si waterfalls (B, L)
A full day of exploration awaits as, after breakfast, you embark on a boat cruise to visit the Pak Ou Caves, located 32 km upstream. Along the way, there will be a stop at the whisky village to witness the production of Lau Lao (rice whisky), followed by a visit to the cave for a one-hour tour, where thousands of Buddha statues are housed. You will then take a car ride through lush forest to reach the Kuang Si Waterfalls. En route, there will be a stop at a village of the Hmong ethnic group. After the waterfalls, on the way back, you will visit the weaving village of Ban Xang Khong and learn about the production of silk paper. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang - end of the tour (B)
Very early in the morning, around 5:45 AM, you will depart in a private car for Ban Vat Sean to witness the morning alms-giving ceremony to Buddhist monks, in a long procession of saffron robes. Return to the hotel for breakfast and check-out. Then, visit the Royal Palace Museum before the transfer to the airport.
