Da Nang

Overview

A Modern and Attractive City on the Coast

Enjoy the coast and the comfort that Da Nang has to offer!

Located halfway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang has held a strategic role in Vietnam’s contemporary history. The French first made it a concession twice — once in 1787 before the French Revolution, and again in 1858 under Napoleon III. The French called it Tourane, derived from the Chinese Cua Han, meaning “mouth of the Han River.” Later, during the war with the Americans, Da Nang became an important air base for the South Vietnamese and American forces. Since Vietnam’s economic opening, the city has grown rapidly and is now the fourth largest city in the country.

Today, Da Nang is best known for the beauty of its beaches and surroundings, rather than its cityscape, which is quickly modernizing. With our private tours, we will take you to several must-see places: the Hai Van Pass, offering breathtaking views of Da Nang Bay; Ba Na Hills, at 1,487 meters altitude with its fun attractions; the Marble Mountains, or the Son Tra Peninsula.

If relaxation and leisure are what you are looking for, we highly recommend stopping in Da Nang to enjoy its beaches such as Thanh Binh, Bac My An, and Non Nuoc — all of which boast highly rated hotel services.

For those more interested in history and culture, we will guide you to the Cham Museum, established in 1919 by the French School of the Far East (EFEO). It still houses the world’s largest collection of Cham art and sculpture, with more than 400 original works created between the 5th and 15th centuries during the Champa Kingdom.
