Itinerary

Day 1
Hanoi – Cat Ba island – Lan Ha bay (L, D)

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel around 8:00 AM, heading towards Cat Ba Island (alternatively, you may take the bus from Hanoi to Cat Ba Island, departure between 7:30 and 8:00 AM). You will first board a ferry to reach the island. After the ferry, to get to Cat Ba town (about 30 km away), where our traditional junk is moored, we offer you a one-hour motorbike ride with driver, off the beaten track. If you prefer not to try the motorbike experience, you may continue by bus instead.

Around 12:30 PM, you will embark on our traditional wooden boat, the Quatre Saisons. The cruise first passes by the fishing village of Hang Vem in Lan Ha Bay. Sailing with the sails up is possible depending on the wind. Enjoy this cruise to relax, swim, and soak up the sun on deserted beaches (weather permitting). You will also have the chance to kayak and discover a floating fishing village.

Lunch and dinner are served on board, with delicious fresh seafood (fish, shrimp, squid, shellfish) purchased the very same day from local fishermen. Overnight stay in a comfortable cabin on the boat.

Included : transport from Hanoi (bus or private car, depending on your choice), cruise on the Quatre Saisons, lunch and dinner, kayaking, overnight on the boat.

Day 2

This day is dedicated to relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The crew will inform you when kayaking and swimming sessions are scheduled.

  • 8:15 AM – The boat continues its navigation through Lan Ha Bay, getting close to the most stunning limestone peaks and islets.

  • 8:30 AM – Arrival at Viet Hai village for a beautiful cycling excursion. Take your time to admire the landscapes.

  • 10:00 AM – Return to the junk, time for a shower, and check-out of your cabins as the boat heads back to Ben Beo.
