The archaeological site of Angkor was once the capital of the Khmer Empire, which dominated the Indochinese peninsula from the 9th to the 14th century AD.
Visiting the Temples of Angkor means much more than exploring the ruins of a single city – it is about discovering the remains of several successive royal capitals, each of which shone over the Empire for decades. It also means immersing yourself in a unique civilization and beginning to understand the state cult known as devarāja, which linked the king to the divine.
This three-day itinerary is designed to guide you through the essential monuments that have made Angkor famous worldwide: the grandiose Angkor Wat, the mysterious Angkor Thom, and other iconic temples that reflect the spiritual and artistic brilliance of the Khmer people.
A truly memorable experience, and a perfect extension after a journey through Vietnam from North to South!
Arrival at Siem Reap Airport. You will be welcomed by our guide and driver, then transferred to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel, then the day is dedicated to exploring the most impressive sites of Angkor. You will first visit Angkor Thom, built mainly by King Jayavarman VII at the end of the 12th century. The name Angkor Thom means “the Great City,” and it stands as a testimony to the grandeur of the Empire.
After lunch (at your leisure), you will discover Angkor Wat, the monumental complex built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. This vast city was the spiritual heart of the Khmer civilization at the time. With your guide, you will decipher the many symbolic details carved into its architecture.
In the early evening, you will be taken to enjoy a dinner show featuring the Apsara dance, a true symbol of Khmer culture. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel, then private car transfer (without guide) to Siem Reap International Airport, 2 hours before your departure flight.
