In the evening, your guide will accompany you to the Teh Dar show (starting at 18:00). After the performance, you will have free time to enjoy Hoi An by night – and you will understand why it is often called the “lantern town.”
Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, depart by bicycle to explore the countryside around Hoi An. From village to village, you will cycle through vast rice fields along winding and peaceful paths towards Van Lang fishing village and the Bay Mau Water Coconut Forest (about 7 hectares), surrounded by mangroves, canals, and houses roofed with water coconut leaves. During the Vietnam War, this area was a refuge for locals and soldiers; today, it is well known for supplying seafood.
Along the way, you will stop at several local highlights: Ba Le market, rice paddies, cemeteries, schools, and more.
At around 10:00, arrive at the village, where you will be warmly welcomed by a local family. Enjoy a cup of green tea and stroll around the village. Later, fishermen will show you their traditional fishing techniques and take you on a short ride in their round basket boats (thung chai).
At 11:00, return to the family home for a moment of relaxation with a medicinal herbal foot massage, a traditional therapeutic practice. After this relaxing break, join the family in preparing lunch, which may include crispy pancakes, Hoi An spring rolls, Tam Huu (pork, shrimp, and herbs tied with chive), and grilled fish wrapped in banana leaves. You will then enjoy the dishes you have helped prepare.
After lunch, relax under the shade of the water coconut trees before cycling back in the early afternoon. Return to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the hotel facilities.
Departure from the hotel around 07:00 for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City at 09:00. Arrival in HCMC around 10:30, meet your driver at the airport and transfer to Maison de Camille Hotel.
Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, your guide will pick you up for a city tour including:
Ngoc Hoang Temple (Jade Emperor Pagoda) – dedicated to the Jade Emperor. With its monumental and colorful sculptures, intricate mosaics, fragrant incense, and peaceful little garden, this is one of the most beautiful temples in the city.
Cholon, the Chinatown of Saigon, with visits to Thien Hau Pagoda and Binh Tay Market. Full of life, this market offers absolutely everything you can imagine, in a warm and bustling atmosphere.
Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
At 07:30, depart with your guide and driver towards My Tho (70 km – approx. 2h00 drive) for your discovery of the Mekong Delta, formed by the nine branches of the nourishing river.
Upon arrival in the My Tho region, begin with a visit to Vinh Trang Pagoda. Continue to Ham Luong Pier, from where you will start your cruise on the Ben Tre River. Along the way, observe lively activities on the river such as fishing, water transport, and even traditional brick-making through molding and firing techniques.
You will also visit one of the many coconut processing workshops located along the canals, as well as a family-run mat weaving workshop.
Late in the morning, enjoy a ride by motorized cart (xe loi) or by bicycle along shaded paths, passing by lush rice paddies and vegetable fields. Lunch will be served at Hai Ho’s house.
In the afternoon, take a peaceful sampan ride along a small canal before returning by boat to Ham Luong Pier. From there, depart by road to Can Tho (100 km – approx. 2h30).
Arrival at Bamboo Village, where you will spend the night.
Around 05:30 am, depart from Can Tho pier for a motorboat ride to visit the Cai Rang Floating Market. Discover the incredible variety of products sold on the river – from popular fruits like mangoes and bananas to more exotic ones such as mangosteens, star apples, sweet longans, and the famously fragrant durians. Enjoy breakfast right on the boat while immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of the market.
Continue with a visit to Le Binh Covered Market, a lively fish-and-vegetable market on the banks of the Mekong.
Then, depart for Xeo Quyt, a historic site in Dong Thap province that was the location of an important battle during the Vietnam War (1960–1975). Today, this area is both a natural park and an open-air museum recounting the history of the battle. You can explore the site on foot (about 2 km) along a walkway built above the mangrove, or take a 20-minute sampan ride. This offers the chance to discover a rich, untouched forest and to gain an impression of the harsh living conditions of Vietnamese soldiers at the time.
