The journey begins in Ho Chi Minh City, where you’ll head toward Ben Tre and Mo Cay for a full immersion into the heart of lush rivers and orchards. Explore traditional villages and artisanal workshops, savor local meals, and interact with the residents to experience the region’s genuine charm.
On the second day, visit Cai Mon and its famous bonsai gardens before continuing on to Long Xuyen. Along the way, enjoy picturesque landscapes and gain a deeper understanding of the culture and traditions of local communities.
On the third day, experience the unique atmosphere of a lively floating market, where trading takes place on colorful boats laden with fresh produce. Finally, return to Saigon with unforgettable memories and the feeling of having discovered an authentic and welcoming Vietnam.
08:00 – Departure for My Tho and visit the sacred Vinh Trang Pagoda, the oldest in the region, where you will learn about Vietnamese Buddhism as well as Taoism, Confucianism, and ancestor worship, which are pillars of Vietnamese culture.
Navigate the Ben Tre River to observe the daily life of locals, including fishing activities. Stop at Mr. Tu Lo’s workshop to discover traditional brick-making, then continue to the village of Nhon Thanh. Take a walking tour of the village, visit weaving houses, and enjoy Vietnamese tea and seasonal fruits.
Ride a bicycle or tuk-tuk through coconut groves, rice fields, and gardens, with a visit to Mr. Sau Khanh, an antiques collector, to admire his collection and learn the technique for climbing coconut trees. Lunch at Hai Ho.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride under the shade of coconut trees along the Cai Coi River to Hung Vuong Pier. Cross the Ham Luong Bridge and arrive at Mrs. Mai’s home for check-in. Free time to rest, followed by optional activities such as cycling, kayaking, or fishing. Participate in preparing dinner and share the meal with the family. Overnight in a peaceful homestay in the village.
After breakfast, depart by bicycle for the local market. Continue to the Cai Cam River pier to join the Ham Luong River. The cruise continues along the scenic Mo Cay River to Hoa Loc Pier. Cycle under the shade of coconut trees, then board a boat to reach the Mo Cay Market. Visit the renowned coconut candy workshop, the most famous in Ben Tre.
Continue by boat along the Mo Cay River to Thom Market, where you can observe hundreds of workshops specializing in coconut-based products, as well as traders’ boats. At Thom, your vehicle will be waiting to take you along National Route 57, lined with the famous bonsai gardens and orchards of Cai Mon. Lunch at Mr. Khanh’s.
In the afternoon, depart for Sa Dec to visit the town made famous by the film The Lover by Marguerite Duras. Explore the bonsai garden, then continue to Long Xuyen. Arrive around 18:00 and overnight at a homestay on Tiger Island.
After breakfast, visit the Long Xuyen Floating Market, still untouched by mass tourism. Take a bicycle ride on Tiger Island to discover Ton Duc Thang’s house and observe the daily life of the locals. After lunch, return to Saigon by car with your guide.
