We invite you and your family to discover the wonders of Vietnam on a 18-day journey, complemented by a 3-day extension in Cambodia to explore the famous temples of Angkor and the Tonle Sap Lake.
This itinerary is specially designed for families, combining fun, discovery, and comfort. You’ll enjoy a varied program that takes you through the spectacular landscapes of Halong Bay, the mountains and rivers of Ninh Binh, the rich history of the imperial city of Hue, and the timeless charm of Hoi An. Each stage includes fun and educational activities so children can learn while having fun, such as boat rides, visits to local markets, and hands-on craft workshops.
To avoid long journeys, we’ve selected family-friendly transportation, including a train ride between Hanoi and Hue for an enjoyable and immersive adventure. Accommodations are carefully chosen for their comfort and warm hospitality, tailored to the needs of families traveling with children.
Travel with confidence alongside our French-speaking guides, who will accompany you throughout this journey. Together, we’ll ensure that every family member fully enjoys this exceptional adventure across Vietnam and Cambodia.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our guide and driver, then transferred to your hotel, where rooms will be available from the morning.
You will then enjoy lunch with your guide before spending the afternoon exploring the famous Old Quarter, known as the “36 Streets.”
The day continues with a cyclo ride through the bustling alleys, followed by a traditional water puppet show in the late afternoon.
Dinner at your leisure and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will set off to explore the Museum of Ethnology, where you will learn about the customs and traditions of Vietnam’s many ethnic groups. Outside the museum, you can visit reconstructions of traditional houses, making the discovery both educational and fun.
Next, head to Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi. Here, your children will have the chance to discover how traditional Vietnamese toys called Tò he are made — colorful figurines crafted from glutinous rice dough.
Lunch of local specialties around Truc Bach Lake.
In the afternoon, discover the iconic Long Bien Bridge, one of Hanoi’s landmarks, and enjoy a fruit juice on a rooftop with panoramic views over the bridge.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will depart for Hoa Binh province, home to the Muong ethnic group. This mountainous region separates the Red River Delta from the Ma River basin. From the town of Hoa Binh, the road climbs gradually, crossing the Muong Khen Pass before winding up toward the Thung Nhuôi Pass. Stop along the way to enjoy a stunning panoramic view over the Mai Chau valley.
You then continue through beautiful high mountain landscapes toward Moc Chau district. Arrive late morning in the village of Hua Tat, home mainly to the so-called “Flower Hmong,” who live on the mountain slopes. Settle into a rural homestay run by a welcoming Hmong couple, part of a community-based tourism project.
Lunch at the homestay.
In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely hike through the valley, passing by villages, maize fields, pine forests, and surrounding mountains. Return to A Chu Homestay, where you will help prepare the evening meal before sharing a convivial dinner.
Dinner will be accompanied by a traditional dance performance. Overnight at the homestay.
After breakfast, set off for the Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
Along the way, enjoy several scenic stops to admire the surrounding landscapes. Upon arrival, begin your walk through the reserve, passing by picturesque villages nestled in the lush countryside.
You will pause in one of these villages for a traditional lunch, offering a moment of cultural exchange with the locals.
The afternoon continues with more walking through rice terraces, bamboo forests, and tranquil valleys before transferring to your eco-lodge.
Dinner at the lodge and overnight stay in a private bungalow.
Take your time in the morning after breakfast. Then depart for Ninh Binh, also known as the “Halong Bay on land.” The drive takes about 3 hours. Lunch will be served on the way. Arrive at your hotel in the afternoon. You will then set off by bicycle to discover the surrounding countryside of Tam Coc. Visit the very ancient Jade Pagoda.
Dinner at your leisure and overnight in a bungalow nestled close to the karst peaks.
Breakfast at your hotel, then departure for Trang An, the eco-tourism site. A boat trip of over 2 hours awaits you to explore the famous karst peaks. These landscapes have served as the backdrop for several American action films such as King Kong. After this visit and lunch, you will go on to discover Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest Buddhist complex in Vietnam.
Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon. Dinner at your leisure and overnight at the hotel.

“An effective agency and more … We discovered Vietnam from Hanoi to Ho Chi Min through Hue and Hoi An thanks to the excellent services. To choose the tour I had excellent exchanges with the agency throughout the preparation of the trip so that it fits what we wanted. We had three different guides. All friendly and speaking English very well. The drivers were professional (and you have to be to get around Vietnam),very attentive and punctual.”
“Exceptional service and magnificent organized tours ! We’re Swiss and took advantage of Parfum d’Automne’s offers to visit Cat Ba, Lan Ha Bay, next to Halong Bay, and the Pu Luong region in the northwest mountains of Vietnam. It was fantastic! We met a lot of great locals, not least thanks to the guides and tours organized by the agency.”
