North Vietnam will enchant you with its natural wonders, the hospitality of its people, and the quality of its cuisine.
Through our tours, you will discover breathtaking landscapes, such as the karst peaks of Lan Ha Bay and Ninh Binh, the terraced rice fields of Sapa, Mu Cang Chai, or Pu Luong. With our guides, you will share life moments with several populations living in remote and hard-to-reach areas (like Hoang Su Phi). In these off-the-beaten-path mountain tours, you can still feel like an explorer! We also recommend visiting Ba Be National Park, where preserved flora and fauna flourish. Let’s not forget Hanoi, the cultural and historical heart of Vietnam, as well as historical vestiges related to the Indochina Wars (Dien Bien Phu valley or in Cao Bang province).
Depending on the season you travel, we will advise you on the best itinerary. In any case, we will include a stay on a traditional junk boat in Lan Ha Bay in your tour itinerary: with two boats built in a traditional way, we will make you experience an authentic experience in a part of the Bay still preserved from mass tourism.

North Vietnam : practical information
North Vietnam is perfect for mountain trekking. We recommend planning a multi-day mountain trek with us, where you will meet locals and hike through stunning landscapes. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the season you will be traveling in. Although North Vietnam is not known for its beaches, you can still find beautiful places to relax, sunbathe, and swim (weather permitting) on Cat Ba Island or in Lan Ha Bay.
North Vietnam experiences distinct seasons: the months of November, December, and January are cool and rainy, and signify the winter season for the rice paddies. The best periods are clearly Spring (March – April) and the end of the rainy season (September – October) during the rice harvest in mountainous areas.
Renowned for its sophistication, North Vietnamese cuisine heavily features soups, stews, and grilled dishes. The iconic dish of the North is of course Phở, which has become emblematic of Vietnamese cuisine. But North Vietnamese cuisine is not just limited to Phở, and we invite you to discover our 20 must-try Vietnamese dishes to learn more.
